This thing is HATED by Flyers fans. That should not surprise anyone. I've always liked how the Flyers are one of the few teams left without a mascot, so my first reaction to this was not positive. But after seeing all the hilarious comments and memes about this, its kinda growing on me. Its so bad its...kinda good. But I am not the target audience here. Its for the kids. The Flyers management want Gritty to entertain the kids, show up at corporate events and stuff like that. Mascots are not meant to entertain anyone older than like 10. So its kinda funny it pisses off so many people. I predict (and I'm almost always wrong) that Gritty will get a make-over at some point, probably after the season is over. It needs to look A LOT more kid friendly.

I love it. It demands respect through fear.

I thought it was pretty dumb at first, but then seeing how it's Twitter account played along with it's total ridiculousness I grew to love it. Probably one of my favorite mascots in all of sports.

I mean, just look at those eyes.

I have seen those eyes before, except it was in a nightmare and those eyes wanted to kill me...
