Matthews is better at faceoffs and at the defensive part of the game and has a slightly better points per game average than Kuzy the past two seasons. So, what exactly makes Kuzy better?

Everything being equal give Mathews Ovechkin and Wilson and kuzy Hyman and marner or Nylander and then let the comparisons continue kuzy did get Wilson overpaid and for his cap hit I would probably side that way but no salary cap unlimited budget I would have to go Mathews, but mathews at 10.5 or kuzy at 7.8 that’s a decent depth player difference

kuzy is a better passer skaters better hand and has better vision.... more overall points......has scored more than 70 points in a year....won a cup while being the best player on his team.....

More overall points isn't too difficult when you've played 4.2 seasons and the comparison has played 2 (with a quarter of that lost to injury). Also, Matthews would have way exceeded 70 last year if not hurt, but who needs facts, right? Also, the goal numbers say otherwise on the hands.

90% of this site would say Wilson is a 4th liner and Nylander played with backstrom and looked like an elite forward so idk what the comparison would be with the wingers...... but yeah id take kuzy over Matthews all day

I mean last season kuzy outscored him.....season before that he started the season playing with a broken foot......but yeah he was injured and thats part of the game.....I mean kuzy played the last half of the playoffs with an injury thats happens doesn't change anything.......also he would have has 70? he didn't no reason to be hypothetical


also goals are cool but so are overall points .....kuzy sets up the plays..

Ok, to start Matthews was selected 1st, while Kuznetsov was picked 26th. Matthews plays great D for a centerman, and don't get me wrong Kuznetsov does but, the capitals used the trap during the playoffs making his defensive skill look greater. Matthews has a higher points per game average and he's playing with Nylander, While Kuznetsov is playing with Ovechkin! I'm not saying Kuznetsov is bad, but I don't think he's better than Matthews.
Also Matthews is great at stick handling though Kuznetsov is faster.

Again, outscored him last season because he played 17 more games. Not that difficult. and don't give me the "hypothetical" crap. Matthews scored 63 in 62. He easily would have broken 70 and you know it, but hey, homers gonna homer.

kuzy was picked 26th overall bc he wasn't planning on coming to the nhl.....easily in a redraft would be a top 5 pick.....

we are talking 2018 ovechkin not 2006 ovechkin .....I mean he's great but his speed and skill aren't what they were .....nylander is younger and faster I find it hilarious that people think this is a comparable thing ....maybe he has 49 goals at his age is bc of the talent giving him the puck?

I do know what you mean but kinda a trick question you would probably have to change one or the other winger depending on which center you have, Mathews would dig his own pucks out of the corner and you would need ehlers and possibly wheeler with him and with kuzy and laine together you would need some grind to go get pucks for them possibly Wilson because I can have who I want in my own scenario lol
