You thought wrong. While Shaw is a glue guy and a great player there is a reason why the Leafs shouldn't take on Salary for him, particularly when he will likely want a hefty raise. The trade reminds me of the Dave Bolland deal but we give up a ton more. JVR should net the Leafs a lot more than that.

He's not lying...It says it under his user name. I am a Hawks fan and have to admit another piece would need to be included. I personally think Teuvo is a bit much, but maybe Svedberg or Rasmussen. It would probably have to be a prospect and not a projected career AHLer, but also not a top tier prospect either.

Yeah thats not enough for JVR palhal. I like Shaw and and i don't think Bickell is as bad as everyone think he is but JVR can get you at the very least a 1st rounder and a prospect. I would think the rebuilding Leafs would rather take that. As long as it is not this years pick, MTL would gladly throw a 1st rounder and a decent prospect your way for JVR.

Well, that's a first. Usually it's a guy overvaluing his "own" guys, but in this case, from some knowledgable fans, I have under valued my own team JVR.
Just to let you know my thinking....JVR has two more years left till UFA. The trade would be with Shaw signed for a four or five year deal. You're right F50marco, the Leafs don't have to buy him out and see if he makes the team. If he doesn't "bury" with the Marlies. If some team comes calling for him later he can be given away similar to Panik.
JVRs NTC kicks in June 30, so we'll see if there is any action of him. Thanks for your insight guys.
