He will surely have some games at the beggining of the year, that I conceive to you. But still, there might be some trouble to even be able to do that, since the Habs have so many one way contract...if they keep him, that would mean putting one more player through waivers and since they'll probably have to put as many as 4 players, they might not gamble on it and return Kotkaniemi to Liiga at the end of training camp.

I think Kotkaniemi is turning a few heads round and is proving Marc Bergevin wasn’t a doofus for taking him earlier than projected. But with the state of the Habs, it may be better to let him develop for another year (potentially two) before bringing him up, by which point he should be a very impactful center. He may be ready for the NHL, but heck why not let the kid develop some more
