To be totally honest, I think FLA overpayed dearly! WOW! Huberdeau for Tkachuk 1V1 alone would have made me pause a long freakin' while (if I were FLA's GM)....I get that Weegar and Hubby are on an expiring contract, but still! MAN!

WOW! Kyrou is a superb two way player and top5 speedster in the world! He'll command a higher $ number than R.Thomas, which will be way more than Bratt will get (he should get around 6.5M$ TOP)...do you think it's because the entire league undervalue him or because YOU overvalue him?? GMs, player agents, arbiter : they'll give him 2M$ a year less than Kyrou because they all can't properly evaluate the player, but YOU can, right?

Then, you're overvaluing your players and don't know enough/haven't watch enough Matthew Tkachuk games. That is as simple as that. It's alright to be wrong, you know? A prospect, even an A level prospect, is still a risk whether you want to or not, since there is absolutely no guarantees that he'll develop as promised. Holtz is a good prospect, but he ain't a top 10 NHL prospect, not even top15. Nemec is higher than he is on his own team's prospect list...

Yes they are and more than those only two...as if they were SO untouchable lol! Give me a break! Bratt already has a foot in the door anyway. He's very good, but come on now...you're talking about getting one of the most unique player in the NHL. Nobody cares if you hate the guy because you don't like the way he plays...that's a fact and everyone in the know understands that fact. Lots of fans seems to miss that and it's sad, really

Tuch (at that time) pretty much equals Bratt's (at the moment) value. [Tuch NOW is worth more than Bratt NOW]
Krebs > Holtz
1st round pick = 1st round pick
2nd round pick pretty much equals Bahl's value
How many "Eichel type" player there is in the NHL? Not 80, of course, but still, certainly 20 at the least...now do M.Tkachuk...that explains why my proposal is spot on in terms of value and it might be more than that, in reality.
We'll see very soon!

They already refused Kyrou, Krug & a first WITHOUT an extension being agreed upon beforehand...Kyrou alone is worth Bratt, Bahl & a first.
It's important not to overvalue players in your own team and keep a clear head. Tkachuk is a Unicorn in the NHL. What he brings to the table is unrivalled. Elite star talent + intense grit and leadership. Keep that in mind when you'll see the eventual return.

Swap Reilly Walsh with Jesper Bratt, take out the 2nd & 5th pick and that's a fair deal on both sides.
J.Bratt, K.Bahl, A.Holtz & NJD '23 1st round pick to CGY
M.Tkachuk to NJD (resigned for 8x9.5M$)
[Even though I think NJ would be best serve parting ways with Shakur since they're deep on RD (that is if they resign Severson, of course!)

Even though this ACGM is pretty short and simple, it's one of the most unrealistic that I've seen for quite a while, actually!
"HEY GUYS, let's all do a HUGE favor to the team who won the last two cups and are in CAP HELL, at the moment. Let's help them clear things out while also GIVING THEM PICKS & PLAYERS, just for the trouble ;)"
Everyone knows the Bolts NEEDS to trade away at least 2 high salary players to become cap compliant. Why in the hell would they NOT make them pay for it? Even though some GM's need to add to their team, there's plenty of options out there. I honestly think that there won't be any "friendyl deals" being made with them, this summer. And that's a GOOD thing!

Rust and Eichel
MIN is giving WAY TOO MUCH to BUF for Eichel & they're receiving WAY TOO MUCH for Dumba! You're overvaluing/undervaluing SO many players, in those trades...PHI wouldn't even do P.Myers for Dumba straight up. And for Eichel : 2 SOLID A prosect + 2 1st round pick + a real solid top-6 winger (first line winger, dare I say?) and a 2nd round pick...I mean, Eichel is top10-15 in the league, yeah, but that's a price no team's going to pay, even IF he was 100% healthy without his injury history.
Maybe try again? :grimace

Habs 2021-22 w Jones
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsRafiki</b></div><div>Jones will get top money or term, probably not both. Romanov? I am not sure what kind of $$$ you imagine he'll get, but unless there is a marked improvement next season (year 3 of his ELC), he'll get a modest bridge that starts with a "2". Suzuki is a more interesting question. His numbers suggest a Domi-like contract, which is $5.3M. He'd get something close to that if the Habs can get 5 years of term from him. Otherwise, he'll get 2-3 years in the high 3s and go for the big number on his next contract.</div></div>
I was pointing out the fact that in his projection, there wasn't any "provision", cap wise, for the salary increase of those 3 players.
I'm ok with what you're saying. I'm not foreshadowing a huge contract for Romanov, even with a great season next year. I'd say a 2x2.25-2.5 would be realistic, if he continue to develop.
For Jones, since he's willing to test the market, I doubt he'll settle for less than his true worth, which is between 8.25 & 9.25 AAV on a 7 years deal.
#14, now : I've seen enough of the kid and what he's capable of that I would throw max term right now! I mean, summer 2021, not after his ELC ends in 2022. Sign him NOW for max term and get yourself a HUGE bargain deal for the years 4 through 8 (maybe even starting year 3). GM'S have to take risks and that Suzuki kid is totally worth it.

This guy was to be the #1 goalie for the Caps. Played very well last year, this year too, but got hurt long term and Vanecek (a nobody) got hot in his absence. This doesn't mean Samsonov's bad and will sign a back-up level contract at 24 years old lol! Please! If he signs for 1.5M$-2M$, then it's a 1 year contract. (which I hardly believe both party wants). If it's a 3 years contract, it'll be based on Jarry contract (3.25$'$ per). More for 5+ years. The more reasonable option for both parties is a bridge contract. They might also part with him and keep Vanecek, but I don't think it's the right move. #my2cents

THIS! Exactly THIS! His line-up is 2 players short with only 1.1M$ of cap space left. PLUS, there's no big contract coming off the book, the next year, with those players needing big raises (Jones-Suzuki-Romanov). This exercice requires a little bit of foreshadowing....some seems to forget about that important fact :(

That's where they can use that 4.2M$ of cap space (5.1M$ if you send down Liljegren). It could net them a top6 on a short term deal (1-2 years). Coleman's a good option...maybe Hoffman or Tatar too? I'm with you here. Still, you can't add Domi to this exact trade and call it even. My point was to strenghten weak point in their line-up (RD and G). Korpisalo isn't godly, but I think Campbell-Korpisalo is a good tandem. Not great, but it doesn't have to be.

The Columbus trade has promise, but it leaves a gapping hole in our forward group. It might break the deal, but I'd need Roslovic as well.</div></div>
Be realistic, now. Roslovic just had a breakout season, for them, and is the surprise of the Dubois-Laine trade. He's also a local dude on a great deal. CBJ isn't trading him anytime soon. Jones for Marner is a pretty close deal, in itself. I'm still scared of what Jones will ask, when summer 2022 comes...9M$ AAV? More? Because if they do this trade and Jones doesn't sign an (affordable) extension right away, then it's a HORRIBLE trade for them!

I still think that players WILL take discount for Toronto, because history tells us that they'll do, even though they're "choke artists" as you said :tearsofjoy Remember one thing, though : with the flat cap for another 2 seasons, there wont be many 5-6-7 M$ AAV contracts.
