It's technically a 3 way trade. Bobby Ryan is a NJD for literally a minute, they retain salary, and ship him to Colorado.

Same thing as what happened with Brassard. He was a Golden Knight before a Penguin

Rangers say no, if they were going to be parting ways with hayes, the demand would be Martin kaut to start.

If Hayes gets traded to Avs, most likely it’d be a one for one with a high end prospect. Probably just a step under makar if not makar. 25+ goal, 50 point players centers are surprisingly worth a lot

Hayes has literally never hit 50 points..... but Soderberg has. So what your saying is Soderberg is worth Kravtsov.. maybe Kravtsov +.

Really... you think that the value of an established 2nd line center who puts up 40 to 50 pts a year, and plays the 200 ft game isn't worth that then I guess you dont know what your talking about... hayes is worth at least a 1st, 2nd, and a B level prospect. Look at all the trades that happened recently and the value that was involved in the return... oh and hayes is still young with more upside....

Yep pretty much, that's the cost of doing business... hayes is a 2 way center, playing in all facets of the game and still puts up between 40 to 50 pts. A few years ago, stepan was traded to the yotes for the 7th overall pick... very similar situation...

Oh and soderberg is 32... why would a rebuilding team want a 32 year old... not saying he is a bad player but the trade makes no sense for team need is what I'm saying...

Hes not a 2nd line Center, Thats the issue. He is a 3rd line C who is asked to play 2nd line minutes on the Rangers.
So yes you arent getting a teams best winger prospect for a 40 point 3rd line C

And and your claims of a good defensive 200 foot Center....Hayes gets crushed in every shot based defensive metric that you can track. So claiming he is a 2C and good 200 foot player doesnt mean its true

Ok well clearly talking to the expert... what statistics are you even talking about... and that's also why he becomes the 2nd line center on this team... not a 2nd line center though right....

Oh and here is the data to show what kind of player that you are talking about as a "3rd line center" if you look at primary point production, he is one of the highest in the league and plays the shutdown role too

He is not a shut down c, he might play it on the Rangers but he is not overall effective in that role, hes average at best. The guy is not worth multiple high end trade pieces..
Like I said he is a 3rd line C, especially on any team that is looking to be serious about playoff contention. SO he is worth "kraut to start" is such an over payment

you should look at the data, youre tryign to argue that he is good shut down C bc he puts up primary points. Makes sense.....
But keep on you doing you buddy, no point of trying to have a convo with you as it seems like you approaching this as a fan boy instead of responding to the actual points brought up

I'm arguing your point of being a 3rd C but yea you're right. Should I go get more data to show the shutdown role he plays or should you just prove your point by just giving more opinion rather than fact?

I think ppl are forgetting that he started roughly 60% in the defensive zone, put up 13th most primary points. It’s impossible to have positive possession stats when you are put in a defensive role.

      https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/h/hayeske01-advanced.html

For all those here for those possession numbers you’re quoting, bring it all to the right. 63% defensive zone start.

Let me start by saying i didnt read all of these comments but i personally do not like this at all. i think that the avs need to make one move, and thats to get a scoring 2nd line winger. aka skinner. stay the course. see what the team is like in 2 years when Kamenev, Makar, Bowers, Kaut, Timmins are NHL regs and then make power moves.
