Even though the price wont be very high, itll probably be higher than that.
Patches is a legitimate 35+ goal man, and regardless of the comments by the Canadiens he will command a decent return. Probably gonna have to give up a higher upside prospect and a 1st or 2nd rounder, especially if youre including McQuaid.
On top of all that, Boston is a division rival. As unwise as Bergevin is, he knows enough to either avoid trading a player of Pacioretty's caliber to a rival, or ask for a lot in return for him.
Dont get me wrong, I think Patches would fill our need of a scoring winger, and I'd love to get him, but I just dont see it happening in that deal. Either we overpay to get him now or take our chances in free agency next year. With other wingers like Skinner available now, I'd rather sit out on Pacioretty until the summer.
