Quoting: ChiHawk
Saad is worth more then Skinner. Skinner is one dimensional and a 1 year rental. Faulk isn't worth a 1st rounder. AA, Forsberg, and a 2nd is plenty for Faulk. AA 1st and 3rd round pick for Tuevo is enough for a 1 year rental, again a one dimensional player that doesn't have any defense skills.
Saad is worth more then Skinner with Skinner set to be a UFA, but I see no way Saad is going in any deal short of Skinner extended.
Faulk is most certainly worth a first rounder (mid to late), but the problem with the Hawks is if Crawford isn't right, their first could easily be a lottery first which Faulk is certainly not worth.
AA, Forsberg, and a 2nd are most certainly fair value for Faulk, but that is a poor match for what the Canes actually would want. AA is the older more expensive and redundant version of Rask. With Skinner and prospect Necas looking for a lineup spot, Anisimov is the last thing they are looking for. Forsberg is not a need either. They signed Mrazek and are married to Darling for better or for worst based on his contract obligation. They have a nice goalie prospect in Nedeljkovic (high second rounder with 1.75 years of AHL under his belt...the last of which was really good). Anisimov on a good day is worth a 2nd (his contract and age limit things a little), so you are basically saying 2 2nd's and a fringe NHL backup they don't need. Again….probably reasonable value, but I would want better quality and less quantity if I am Carolina. They'll find someone that will give them a late first or a youngish useful wing with a second before they take a quantity deal like this.
Tuevo just had a breakout 60 point season showing great chemistry with Aho and is only making 2.4 per year. Canes also have team control for 3 full seasons as he is a 23 year old RFA and WILL NOT BE A UFA until he has 7 service years in the league.
