Parayko to the Oilers-No Drai-Who Says No?

Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
STL gets a top 6 center which they desperately need, their D doesn't get to terribly much weaker with Klefbom stepping in and the Oilers FINALLY get their top pairing RHD.

Obviously in this situation the Oilers need more forwards, I signed to middle line free agents with the money freed up in the trade but they could also package the 10th and 29th to move up for one of Zadina, Tkachuk of Wahlstrom depending on how NHL ready the ladder is.

Could also stand more or less where they are for forwards depending on how much belief they have in Puljujarvi and or Yamamoto developing, Rattie staying at the level he was at the last quarter of the season, or Cagguila/Aberg being able to play in middle 6 roles.

Just thinking out loud basically, my question more so is would St. Louis consider this? Would the Oilers pay that much?

Not worth it. I’d keep Parayko and take my chances on someone else. That is overpayment.

Individually Parayko is better than both Oiler players in the deal yes but a no doubt top 6 25 year old center and a 24 year old top 4 (arguably top pair) LHD, a position the Blues could honestly use an upgrade at with or without Parayko, on an even better contract has to carry a ton of value.

Klefbom actually has actually been better than Parayko from a points per game perspective the last two years. Obviously Parayko being a RHD and a far better defender is worth more than Klefbom but its not as much of a downgrade as some would have you think.

I’m assuming that’s farther off but you said you’d rather deal Petro so I’m curious.

Pietrangelo fits better than Parayko does in the Edmonton Organizationamd would be a great top line. Now Parayko on the other hand fits better with us. So RNH Klefbom And a first for Pietrangelo. Honestly Pietrangelo is one of the better defenseman in the league. So that isn’t quite that much to offer.

No he says that it starts with McDavid. That doesn’t mean McDavid for Parayko 1 for 1. It means that the only way we would trade Parayko is if McDavid is what we are getting. Of course we would add. You have to to get McDavid.

It doesn’t matter what you added it’s ridiculous to imagine any scenario that the Oilers consider for a single moment doing that deal.

They would say not to Parayko+Tarasenko(half salary retained)+Fabri+All Blues first and second round picks from now until 2025. It’s ridiculous to even hypothetically imagine

I honestly have a gut feeling you’re gonna be wrong, it might be for way more than I mentioned here, hell it might include Draisaitl, but Bob Stauffer who is an Oiler insider hinted at Parayko and he never ever suggests a specific player unless there is something about to happen. We’ll find out tomorrow I guess.

Which it very likely would be, hell I still think the trade I mentioned here would be an over pay. But Chia is an idiot and is more than liable to offer up something that even you would call on over pay, im just going based on the fact that Stauffer mentioned it and he’s been right about every Oiler move for the last decade almost.

There’s GMs and there Armstrong. Armstrong has made weird moves like Gunnarsson and Bouwmeester which didn’t payout and I’m still pissed about that. But at the same time Armstrong’s drafting has been spectacular with guys like Kyrou and Kostin. Plus Parayko was a late round pick so that’s another one and big payoff on Tarasenko and Schwartz. He knows it would be stupid to trade Parayko

Stupid to trade him for a loss, but my trust in Stauffer knowing when something is coming stands, and my lack of trust in Chia not to do something stupid like Drai+Nurse+10thOA+Puljujarvi remains, I dunno man, I just have a feeling this time tomorrow me and you are gonna come back here and talk about this.

Overpay is what has to happen if I give up Parayko. Kind of like Arizona I won’t give up Domi without overpay. And that is exactly what happened
