STL gets a top 6 center which they desperately need, their D doesn't get to terribly much weaker with Klefbom stepping in and the Oilers FINALLY get their top pairing RHD.
Obviously in this situation the Oilers need more forwards, I signed to middle line free agents with the money freed up in the trade but they could also package the 10th and 29th to move up for one of Zadina, Tkachuk of Wahlstrom depending on how NHL ready the ladder is.
Could also stand more or less where they are for forwards depending on how much belief they have in Puljujarvi and or Yamamoto developing, Rattie staying at the level he was at the last quarter of the season, or Cagguila/Aberg being able to play in middle 6 roles.
Just thinking out loud basically, my question more so is would St. Louis consider this? Would the Oilers pay that much?

Even if the Blues said McDavid, Chia isn't that dumb (or is he?) And will nonlonger negotiate. Blues would say Draisaitl for Parayko and work from there instead.
Overpay is what has to happen if I give up Parayko. Kind of like Arizona I won’t give up Domi without overpay. And that is exactly what happened
According to Lou Korac in St. Louis, Parayko likely is not traded. I've been saying this for awhile, Blues don't offer Parayko unless it's a Seth Jones/Ryan Johansen type deal. Meaning, Draisaitl for Parayko pretty much straight up. Outside of that, he probably doesnt move him. Problem is Blues dont have the depth of defense that Nashville had. So it will take a higher grade C to pry Parayko for that reason alone. I don't see the Blues trading Petro and/or Parayko unless we bring in Carlson from Washington. Even then it's hard to imagine

That is the meaning that we won’t basically trade him to edm unless it’s an amazing offer. And McDavid is pretty much to only thing Blues fans will settle for. And that means Edmonton would end negotiations and that means we don’t deal out Parayko

Would a trade based around Nylander-Pietrangelo work for St. Louis? AP's next contract would jive nicely with when Marleau/Martin comes off our books and his current $6.5 is in the ballpark of what Nylander is likely to get this summer.

Trading Parayko to you mind as well start the rebuild. Now if trade Pietrangelo to you it’s different.
I'm a Blues fan to start. So not sure why you're saying "Parayko to you". I love Parayko, and would love to keep him. but Petro is a top 10 defenseman in the league. Why give that up? We could extend him in a year, and he's just now in his prime. Parayko is good and will be great, but we're trying to win now and keep the future in tact as well. with the looming expansion draft it makes sense to hold onto Petro and keep Dunn and Edmundson.

Well it’s more of an example being Armstrong. Just a habit. And Parayko is future for us. i wholeheartedly disagree because as good as Parayko is, he's not untouchable especially if we can bring in a guy like Draisaitl. We won't trade for Klefbom+10th like i've seen Edmonton fans do. That just won't happen. You honestly wouldn't want Draisaitl?

I think Ottawa would want more, but I think EK would waive his clause
