That is correct. Panarin is really, really good right now. Lucic is still pretty good, but his best days were a while ago.

Poolparty might make up the difference soon, but Columbus just barely made the playoffs and would like to make them again in each of the next few years.

That is correct. Panarin is really, really good right now. Lucic is still pretty good, but his best days were a while ago.

Which is why the Oil would be taking back a bad contract in Dubinsky. Lucic had more points then Dub did

Columbus might accept Lucic for Dubinsky if the contracts have similar salary left.
(Edit: they don't. There's 9.5M MORE left on Lucic's contract than on Dubi's. So good friggin luck with that. Based on his performance last year, no team would offer Lucic a 9M contract this summer, but he's got five years left at a 6M cap hit. Ridiculous. Sell that leadership to a team that missed the playofs)

That's got nothing to do with how much they're not trading Breadman for Poolparty, much as this Caps fan wouldn't mind a bit if they did.
