Minnesota will want more for sure...., I dont have a problem trading up but I feel we need to give up sooo much more, than 14 and 19 and the 3rd, we will need to throw in a prospect or 2, but if there anyone who would make that trade it would be Kenny Holland sooo who knows at this point

I really don't a point in trading down, Also Morin is a guy that will be hard to trade due to his injuries and he's still young.

You don't see the point in DET moving down?

@DirtyDangles There is a history of trades in the top 10. in 2008 NYI went from the #5 to the #9 and it cost (3) 2nd rounders. To go from the #14 to the #6. is the #19 for sure and probably the #50 too. I have no horse in the race...I'm just trying to extrapolate out historical costs (to move into the 10 top) and apply them to this scenario.

Kinda, I guess. The #81 Vs #50 is a pretty big jump and there is a 5th rounder going back. Close though.

I think based on that NYI trade, mine is quite sufficient as they get 2 top 20 1sts and a 3rd which is a long way from 2 2nds.

If you're OK with the #8 pick...now I have a horse in the race and I'd like Bowman to make that trade! The #8 for #14, #19, and #50. It's not the quick fix most hawks fans are looking for, but they need to get a dcorp coming up like PHI does! PHI and CAR have outstanding Dprospects! It's amazing to see.

Don't expect trading up to be a "fair" trade. They are only really worth it for that team if you are getting a player you are 100% sure is going to be a super stud. The costs to move up are distorted and don't make a whole lot of sense necessarily. The pick value system that is bantered around here isn't very accurate either. Just a general idea more than anything.

It really comes down to how much you want Evan Bouchard, literally. Not moving up to 6th position. How much do you want him specifically.

IMO, moving out of the top 10 this year is simply not worth what a team should be prepared to pay for it.

All this really doesn't mean anything until the draft. No GM is going to trade their picks before then because if a certain guy falls to them, then they may want to use it instead. Saying that , 2 1sts inside the top 20 and a 3rd should be enough. Who knows maybe Hextall uses Morin as a trade chip to move up.

Wings are NOT dropping that far unless you take a contract off our hands as well...or add a D top prospect to us .or u send us a 2019 non protected 1st rounder (Jack Hughes hopes) otherwise no

Why not use say the VGS pick and AA to move back up to say 11 with NYI and then you have #11, #14, #19. That is a healthy way to get a rebuild going.

Perhaps but my point was regarding 6 ...vgk pick could be a chip for almost anything up or down so good point by you..but I'd likely say if they keep 6 ..30 or 31 would tried to be used to pkg for 2019 1st rd pick in hopes of Jack Hughes lotto chances.. I think they are happy with having so many picks this yr..they WANT to use some or other options to get more 2019 top picks plus remember 50 NHL contracts is max per year so if we take all picks as players ..that's likely less for future (yes some won't sign or make it) 11 is a lot.. For a reason..I see a trade for D or for 2019 picks that's common sense & insiders talking collect the assets

So you would prefer say, the Flyers #14 and their 2019 1st over the #19?

Not for 6 but if ur talking AA & vgk pick pkg ..for 14 & 2019 first rd ..yes I think wings prefer that & I agree they want that ..cuz philly is a bubble team & that's another lotto ball for redwings jack Hughes chances.,...I don't believe wings will trade 6 unless its for top D or down no further than 9 so they get another asset like walhstrom & young top D since they're are 4-5 nice studs there to be had
