Risto is worth the Edmonton 10th and a bit. I don't like Bear going there, could settle for Strome. I'd want more coming back, but I wouldn't complain if it was Strome+10 for Risto. Either way, the deal pretty much looks like:

#10+Bear for Risto
Puljujarvi for Larsson and a 2nd (conditional, otherwise a late 1st)

That is a very risky deal for Edmonton. Their best RHD prospect and a very high draft pick for a middle-4 defenceman is bad value as it is, but reasonable from where Chiarelli and the Oilers sit. The Puljujarvi deal is absurd. A former #4 pick who hasn't finished his ELC (nor been given the opportunity to succeed) for a bonafide #4C and a possible late 1st? Absurd. I won't have it.

No interest in many of these trades to be perfectly honest.

I'm not trading Risto to EDM for anything short of absurd returns and not "hope"
I'm not trading ROR for a mediocre center in Rask who has only passed 45 points once and an RFA Dman
No need to acquire Nick Foligno.... why exactly is he needed?

The other two trades I could live with however.

Great analysis, this is the sort of reply that I like to read, you broke down the components of each party.
A similar trade was posted yesterday Ristolainen for Bear, Strome and 2018 1st actually got a lot of positive from Edmonton CF GM, I was sort of surprised, because I felt the same as you. The media here as everyone convinced that Ristolainen is the second coming of Karlsson.

Don't want to trade our captain and don't need a LD, but that's a nice enough package that such objections could be overcome.

Assuming Hanifin signs -- Your thoughts then? My thought process in the Foligno trade was that I think Nylander is a complete washout and if we can ship him out for a good veteran leadership presence we should do it.
