The Leafs would NEVER trade Kapanen, they didn't even want to trade as part of a package for Karlsson and what their getting in return is very low in value.

You get a #1/2 RHD for 3/4 years and a #1/2 LW for 4/5 years. Yes you get older, but their is plenty of youth in the team already

From MTL... I like it & Weber an easy tradeable guy in a few year to team like AZ with a real salary declines from 6M to 3M and to 1M a year... with still a cap hit near 8M.
But to make it fait.. MTL need to gives 2018 2st round pick (No#37) in trading older guy's... and Sekera will help our LWD for 2 y.

bad deal for the leafs, rattie is 25 year old minor league, trade rights mean nothing, leafs will keep kapanen as they likely need him as at least two of their wingers move via UFA.

make the switch RHN for Leon and it might be a lot more appealing for the oilers.

“Might be more appealing” of course it would be more appealing for them to keep Leon instead of RNH but that then makes it a ridiculous trade for MTL. Even Leon isn’t a proven #1 center and trading away those two pieces should guarantee you at least that

The Oilers get about 1.167 years old from this trade. The Canadiens trade their best forward, best defensemen, and De La Rose for a franchise center and top 4 defensemen. I'm a huge Draisaitl fan so I can't say that I don't approve this trade.

what are really trading away. an upcoming ufa. and weber is nice for how long? 7.8m can spend getting a good player without. giving up anything in free agency.

have you noticed that almost all trades of weber have been made to the leafs. it's like there are no other teams want him or his contract. but montreal fans are pleading, take him, take him.
