I think Nurse and a first for patches alone is a better trade. Patch can get more than Hanifin or Girard on his own. For Doughty, LA will never trade him but i think Patches and a first round is fair. The patches Ekholm is probably the fairest.. And even then id ask for a second with Ekholm. People forget that patches is one of the best goal scorers in the last few years on a defensive team. Consistent 30 goal scoreres are hard to find. Patches,Fucale and a first for Malkin.

seriously Montreal fans on this site....Girard is now your new obsession in every trade. Why? Bc hes French Canadian and you recently saw him play.

Avs have a good one with him and they aren't in the market of trading promising 19 year old Dmen. Habs already did that with Sergechev, doesn't meant the Avs will do the same mistake
Patches is good but hes 29 and 1 year away from needing a new contract. What about that screams must have to rebuilding teams, especially moving 19 and 20 year old Dmen?

its cheaper and easier to target former Team Canada partners for Mete and Weber
like a Bouwmeester or Timmons (former 2nd round picks stock has never been as high as after world juniors this year )
the reason i say this is because anyone with a brain would trade a promising prospect for an established star because Sergachev is the exception not the rule.
(MTL could still use Sergy for sure , if he was going to play like that here but he didnt because he's a product of his environment which has more legit goal scorers on their top 6 then we have period )

my point is i'd rather give up a 1st a 2nd and a good player for Timmons building around Mete-Timmons then over pay for someone who's half way thru their career's.

you arent getting TImmons from the Avs for draft picks or for old players. Sorry but Habs fans are living a pipe dream if you think this

yeah sure and you arent getting Sergachev for Drouin right ?
im sorry but Timmons is just this years success story , come April there will be a not lot everyones high on

also i speak for me not all habs fans so this childish notion that you can generalize ignorantly without saying anything
wont work on me as my school had Debate class mandatory and taught us to never let an opponent who offers nothing forget
thats all he brings to the table

i mean doing well at the world u20 means **** all
look at Ryan Lindgren our Goalies Brother , he is always USAs top D
but his value outside the tournament has dropped since his gold medal win drastically .

Timmons is no Makar or Berry by anymeans

Soooo you are comparing a random D man who had 2 points in 2 WJC tournaments to timmins who had 5 in 7 games while being named 1 of Canada top 3 players by coaches,

How does Ryan Lindgren and his no showing at WJCs, have anything to do with timmins projection? One was ranked to be a late 1st round pick, and another was ranked to be a late 2nd round pick. THat is the most laughable comparison I have come across in a long time on this site.

I guess if you try to put down and diminish the value of a player in your opinion based on a random comparison of another Dman that once played WJC, just so that hey the bad trade offer is justifiable right.....yeah doesnt work that way

Ryan Lindgren...not named one of USs top Top Players in the tournament, or was he considered a future NHL stud after the WJC.....is context for Conor TImmins named one of Canadas Top Players tournament and scouts/teams are raving at his game?

Thats your context? That literally makes 0 sense. It was Charlie McAvoy and Chabot from those WJC that stole the show for Canada and US...but hey keep on trying to make 1+1 = 3 with this this context example of yours bc Ryan Lindgren brother is a back up goalie in the Canadiens Org.
