pass , we just became the ARZ coyotes of the East without Weber
(as seen this year in his absence twice now due to leading the team's d in blocked shots because Alzners not doing what he was paid to do,Petry to for that matter )

besides now your D core has only 1 Right handed D , given his time with Weber thus far making him the leader in NHL Turnovers
this seems like you want us to fail 12/16 years like ARZ for 3 crappy top 5 picks to show for it and no top 2 picks , just relocation and ownership changes to show for it

also if Weber 'retires at 37' then 6m of his cap per year for the last 4 falls on NSH predators as per the agreement .
as well as them having to pay Weber .

this was pointed out immediately after the trade as a big risk for Polie who by that time could have
Subban leave UFA and have nothing to show for it

its called 'Cap Recapture Penalty' previously agreed to

Please a 32 year old Weber still making $6.3 million for the foreseeable future plus a 36 year old Plekanec making $3 million with De La Rose+ 2 2nds for Pierre Luc Dubois, Jack Johnson and Calvert and Columbus does this why? That pretty bad for Columbus PLD is their future #!C.

i understand , but they have a lot of center , and Weber is still an elite defenceman who would benefit from being shelter in puck moving by Jones and Werenski . Its a playoff push from Clb if u ask me . Plekanec is only for 1 playoff ride and Dlr to replace Pld as a future 3rd liner . (lol) its 4 years of Weber + a 2nd for Pld . Cheers!

if we can get a player like Dahlin we can a afford to go all in on John Tavares
and also show him there is a reason why he should be the next Canadian to lead MTL to a Cup

Dahlin -Weber
Mete-Petry
Jerabek-Benn

that gives us a great youth core
when Petry's NMC is up we trade him
then bring up Juulsen and invest in our youth D
knowing we can now have cap to pay Tavares 13m if he wanted it

show me all these Centers they have?
they have 2 wingers taking the bulk of faceoffs in bottom 6 last i checked and 2 rookie centers playing top 6 because of depth issues at center but an over abundance of Defensive talent

Yeah but chance of getting Dahlin outta the lottery is better than the one to land Tavares . Would u come here if u we're him ? Tavares is slow , in 6-7 years would he like is kid to live the nightmare of pressure here ? Also he is good friend with Weber so without him i don't see John sign here (unfortunately) . Tavares will go to the Rangers , The Golden Knight ... anywhere but Mtl frown . Mete-Petry would be Ubersoft to play against .

Tavares as a possesion center is just to good to pass on
he reminds me of Koivu , everyone pretended they knew what he was capable of
but they constantly redefine expectations and push limits even with age .

i wouldnt sing JT more then 4-5 years its best for all parties
he still wants to have some value when he goes UFA again im sure .

honestly playing with Weber and Price with MTL getting a top stud like a Svechnikov ,Dahlin or Tkchuk
would really help him because in NYI they've already started building around their youth and JT has been apart
of 3 core's there now if he stays in NYI and i just dont see that happening

Mete-Petry actually play well together , but Petry plays his best games with least turnovers when his PK partner since
last year Jo Benn is with him so maybe Mete with Weber and Benn with Petry then but i was thinking that many minutes has been hard on Mete
was all

I personally think of Folingo and Milano as Left Wingers. Jenner is fringe for this year as is Dubinsky... I mean if a guy can't score a half point per game a season it's not really like he's a solid option for the top 6.

taking facoffs as a good secondary doesnt make you a center , it makes you a good faceoff guy

i'll prove my point with Foligno's career faceoff totals as he's clearly a secondary faceoff LW

that being said we only have 1 secondary center taking draws like that and he's injured so we need those to
but honestly most of the people you named fail under the pressure of full time center like Galchenyuk did here even
though he showed streaks of brilliance his cold streaks at Center were to much to deal with and he's way more consistent on wing .

you are thinking he wants to be trapped , look at his last deal when he could have gotten a longer deal he took 6 years
Tavares isnt someone who wants to be defined by his contract like Subban or Weber with long term deals that caused them non hockey issues
that lead to hockey deals being done

Dude , trust me its gonna be 7 years . He refuse 10.5 for 8 from Islanders last summer . Why would he settle for 50 M when he can get 100 M ?

because he has money already and approaches this like a commitment not a payday
this isnt comparable to you winning the lotto no matter how much you play it off that way .

JT will likely not stay in NYI nor will he want to be tied down to another losing organisation while he's their only center stud
for 3/4 of his career to this point .he'll make a big payday deal in the Gomez or Nash variety (his first time UFA with CBJ not NYR)
he'll give them 5 years to do something or he's out at one of the leagues highest payouts at the time )

remember Tavares unlike most of these people who sign huge deals knows he's playing a position
where he's top 10 Centers in the NHL but being paid as the 38th highest paid center
why ?

long contracts mean you miss inflation and are taxed more as the taxes go up as they always do
