ok but this is a trade where you're buying a first line winger, not swapping picks.....

I don't see the Canes trading Necas. They have the cap space and at least on the defensive end...they have 2 really good prospects coming up.

Swapping picks is only one aspect of the trade. Necas is a first line player on the Blackhawks, but probably on 2nd or 3rd line of a contender. The rumor is that the Canes are not giving Necas what he wants, and so naturally that leads to a trade.
