Leafs Major Moves

Hawks just signed Dickinson to an extension. Unlikely they'd move him this soon. Tavares isn't waiving for Chicago anyway.

As a Sabres fan,
The trade here for Marner is certainly tempting

But in real life :
1- he’s likely to cost more
2- not gonna waive
3- Sabres won’t wanna bring in a huge Cap hit like that

Why trade Tavares for Dickinson (who is half the player that Tavares is at best)? The 1.25M in cap savings on the year + the 2nd don't justify making that move, plus you have Dickinson for another year at 4.25M. Might as well just keep Tavares.

CHI would not trade assets for Tavares. There is certainly value to be found in having a post signing bonus JT on CHI's roster, but they don't need him and they aren't paying TOR for the privilege of helping them with cap issues. If y'all want to free up some cap space, give us a call. But it'll cost ya.
