Description
Assuming Habs pick 5th or 6th overall, I would go for an offensive player, Center like Berkly Catton who should be available by that time. could also go for Lindstrom, but may not be available depending on who pick before HABS. Send him to Laval to get properly developped. Bring him up if he's suddenly a phenom... Else.. Stay in Laval for a year..

Don't know if Vegas would be open to trade out Roy, but I would make the offer since they have 9.7M$ of space next year and a 15 man roster.

Mantha, what's his value? How much are teams willing to pay for a guy who has underperformed for so many years and now is putting some decent numbers on contract year? Will he be offered something over 6M$/yr for 4Xyears? Would he take a 6.5M$ offer 1 year from the Habs to come over and prove it wasn't a fluke year? This is just that offer and Habs have the room to sign him at that price for one year, so don't hate, don't criticize this signing if you think it's too much or not enough I'm just going off on the speculation that teams will be cold to the idea of picking him up at a mid range amount for multiple years given his track record. Habs could potentially add him as a try-out year, and extend if he performs, so this contract has minimal risks attached to it and while could be viewed as a bad contract, is only for one year with lots of cap space, hence not a Gally/Anderson deal.

I'm also placing Dach on IR right off the gates.. Yeah I know he was contending to even lead the first line at the start of the season, but I have a feeling he'll still be on the IR next year within 10 to 20 games so I'm not getting my hopes up. This may not be a popular opinion, but I think this is one of those really bad trades Hugues did, I rather have guy like Nazar and Hayes (Picks CHI took, may not have been the same for habs but..) in the future line-up than a Dach being injured at home. Had he been a player able to play 75 games and the series, this would have been a steal for Hugues, but given he's been out again, and again.. It's becoming a really bad one for the return on investment.

I'd trade for Groulx with Anaheim, he was a 2nd draft pick, but hasn't put up numbers this year. Get him in Laval, build his confidence back up near his family, and he may get his legs back to become our 4th line Centerman within the year or next year.

Détails additionnels:
Any team; I figure the BEST of the BEST return could be a 3rd pick, but nothing more than that. Probably closer to a 5th could be returned for Armia.

MTL
    ANY team;
    2nd pick if he can play 75% of games plus in the series; and put up 60pts/season
    3rd pick if he can play 75% and have a 60pts season regardless of the series;
    4th pick if he play 75% of the season;
    Else, Future Considerations.
    IF and only IF Dvorak can play next year, I would trade him out to make place for any new player coming in from the draft or from Laval. Pay half the salary and move him out if he's worth anything.

    1. Roy, Nicolas
    Détails additionnels:
    Nic Roy would ease 3M$ off the cap, Vegas have the Centermen to replace him, and would get 2 prospect Defense and a growing depth forward. Barron can be a good 7th, same for Norlinder who adjusted very well this year, and Ylönen is a potential bottom 6. They also get a 2nd and third for their Draft year in Vegas.

    No thanks. Doesn’t do anything for a team competing for a cup. Roy at his cap hit is almost inconceivably invaluable to us

    This roster feels like it was created to tank which is fine but way too many AHLers on the roster for no reason.

    Catton & Lindstrom are bound by the same CHL agreement, so they can either play in the NHL or the CHL. The AHL is off limits until their 20 year old season.

    Sorry but what? ... Gignac.. one player from the AHL.. The rest have played in the NHL, as far as the scratches, Condotta can be a back-up as he's shown this year. HIs development is acceptable.
    Struble has developped to be able to stay up and continue his NHL development..
    RHP and Josh Roy have both given enough to stay up also.

    So the "too many AHLers" I have no idea where that comes from.
