Description

This team needs a total culture and top-down overhaul, there's no reason for this many players to consistently underperform every year, or stall in development. Jarmo and JD get fired in the offseason, but Paz gets another year with a full offseason of prep to prove he's an NHL coach. The new GM moves as many problem pieces as they can, and ships out Jenner as the ultimate signifier of a total leadership change. They also buy out Elvis, since there are no takers at his $5.4M cap hit.

Columbus starts the season with a young core they hope is ready, signing their RFAs to bridge deals or long-term extensions. If they struggle again, Paz goes and players like Laine, Danforth, and Olivier go on the block. If they really struggle, they've got the draft capital and cap space to make some more significant moves. If they're not a playoff team by 2026, we look at tearing it down further.
