AFter blowing 21+ million in UFA on disappointing/the wrong players and then tying the wagon for this year and next to a crazy almost 50% of cap to four FORWARDS, while struggling to get a capable defense, defensive structure or any reliability in net.... The Leafs have to go all in at TDL.

Laughton and Savard help beyond this year, but its the retention and dumping of samsonov that elevate their values.

COuld also sit timmins and holmberg in ahl, creating another 2.4mil in cap space for another move

I think Montreal could make that trade unless someone else makes a crazy offer for Monahan. He had a good game last night and Hughes might keep right up until the deadline to see what he can get, but this is an offer I would want him to consider taking right now

So the leafs don't have a first or 2nd rounder till the 27 season. They also give up 2 of their best four young prospects. This team isn't a cup contender and until the 25-26 season they should bide their time.
