What you did wrong: Chicago isn't in win now mode so the chances of them trading draft capital for an aging player that doesn't fit the team's timeline are almost non-existent.

I tried to only sign players in UFA that i thought the teams wouldn't extend just to be fair. So i passed up on players like gostisbehere and stamkos i decided not to sign.

isn't the whole point of Boston trading Ullmark to free up cap space? getting Kuemper defeats that purpose, so unless they really want those assets why break up the best tandem in the league?
