For the record I was in favor of signing Jake Wise

He always struck me as a career AHL'er type of guy. And was it his choice not to sign or the Hawks choice? That was really never clear either. Hawks still held his draft rights when he went to Charlotte on an ATO last season. Makes me think Wise chose not to sign w/ the Hawks.

Makes me think CHI had already informed him that they weren't going to offer him an ELC and gave Charlotte permission to bring him in on an ATO. The ATO doesn't really tell a story one way or the other, though, and good AHLer's are still good players. I honestly don't care either way, though. I just wanted to boast like I know things since he is having some early success. haha.

Yeah, totally forgot about him. What's the deal here?

One of those guys I was sad didnt pan out with hawks especially because he was touted as such a "steal" when we first drafted him. Maybe could have had a more direct path to the show if he didnt suffer so many injuries.

Idk. Either he didn't want to sign with CHI or CHI didn't want to sign him. But, he is having a great start to his professional career in the AHL.
