Description
I just wanted to post this team as ideas because even with Campbell on the team...we could A.) waive him...get $1.2M in cap back, but we still have enough to sign our guys and hopefully bring in a few UFAs...yes I think Henrique's an overpay Nino is likely a little bit of an overpay as well...Foligno's back at $4M for 1 year...certainly an overpay, but the term of those contracts are worth it. They roll off the books as the young guys need new deals.

PLUS, I think Brown's bonus will actually hit in the previous year technically. Hawks won't be anywhere near the cap ceiling.

But based on the prior AGM, you've also given up Mrazek at half retained and Hall half retained, sent a 2nd rounder back plus taken on Soup for (3) 1sts. I woudn't do it.

Mrazek 1/2 retained = 2nd
Hall 1/2 retained = 2nd (maybe 1st)
Soup costs (2) 1sts to move

So in other words, taking Soup and (2) firsts out of the trade, you've got the Hawks giving up (3) 2nds for a late 1st. I'll take the (3) 2nds over a late 1st...3 spins at the roulette wheel versus 1.

Forget the prior AMG and just looking at this one here, I would do this trade all day long.

Three 1sts from a collapsing Edmonton team? Hawks take this and run.

I guess the technicalities are a bit different. I agree the DAL 2nd is still here. Noted and I believe we're in agreement that it can be moved down to whatever is appropriate. BUT NOW...that part aside...the only difference between the two trades is Mrazek. That's it. He's coming off our books anyway.

Mrazek + the 2nd which alters the former AGM quite a bit. In other words, it's (2) 2nds in our pocket (assuming we retain and move Mrazek which the way he's playing is very possible) better than the prior trade.

Yeah we're on the same page for the most part. Mrazek...you and I disagree on the value he'll return...which is fair. And the 2nd already admitted. I'd be more than happy to drop that to a 3rd. I'm just not so sure that gets it done. The EDM 1st this year is going to play out like TBLs last year. IF they make it into the playoffs...it'll either be a really late 1st because they made it to the finals...OR it'll be in the teens because they're just so far behind the 8-ball at the moment. I'd be willing to roll those dice.
