Leafs are better for a Cup run with Nylander. Certainly the Leafs don't want four years of 3.6m Goodrow any more than you.

If the Rangers could dump Goodrow somewhere else, this the value here is decent for Nylander. However, the Leafs aren't forced to trade him, and I don't see them being in a position to take a chance on Lafreniere. Laf needs to be somewhere where he gets a chance to be the guy.

Lafreniere and the 1st for Nylander is value. However, to take on Goodrow (which I would do knowing many wouldn't) isn't Korczak. That is gonna cost Matthew Roberston.

Leafs need another Marlie forward like a hole in the head. But a 6'1" 205lb LD who is a year away at 22? Yes, I would consider that.

I wouldn't do this trade as a NYR fan because I don't want to get rid of Lafreniere but in this theoretical situation I would definitely include Robertson in a Nylander trade

All theory here..... but really the value is there.

Rangers are in a similar posution as the Leafs really. You don't wanna move Laffy because he should he part of the long term, and right now, the Rangers are legit.
