Description

Losing Vasy for 2 months is rough. I don't think JJ can be a starter. Do they bring up Hugo Alnefelt or look for another goaltender??? Jaro Halak is the best goaltender on the UFA market, but he's the same age as Brian Elliott. Halak's numbers were better than Elliott's numbers last season. Spencer Martin just got put on waivers, but last season showed that Martin was not capable of being a starter. The Canucks defense was pretty bad, but Martin allowed some pretty bad goals last season. Maybe they try to get Eric Comrie from Buffalo? Alex Lyon from Detroit? Martin Jones from Toronto? I think Buffalo should leapfrog them, maybe Boston too because Boston will be strong defensively. Maybe Florida too. I personally have 5 Metro teams (CAR, NJD, NYR, NYI, and PIT) making the playoffs, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's 4 in the Metro and 4 in the Atlantic. I could see it being TOR, BUF, BOS, FLA and CAR, NJD, NYR, PIT/NYI.

You're right there are some rising teams in the Atlantic, so at some time(maybe not this year) so "old" names....teams might be missing the playoffs.
Teams that traded away futures, for TDL upgrades might be regretting those decisions. ELCs that make the NHL team are really cost efficient. Should be interesting how the goes, and as always, injuries wi will be a factor.

If Vasy returns healthy and rejuvenated, they will have plenty of time to climb back into a playoff spot if they are on the outside looking in. Until then, they just need to stay in the picture, otherwise, they could be looking at a lost season. If they do miss the playoffs though, I just hope they aren't drafting in the first round.
