Description

Bones of a deal structure.

PHI won’t be keen to trade both Konecny and Laughton, but they land 2x middle 6 forwards (Dube has RFA rights still) and a top 4 dman in the process who would pair very well with DeAngelo’s offensive game.

As a CGY fan, I’d be willing to add a pick or prospect and retain on Hanifin’s AAV to make the deal work. Konecny and Laughton are ideal game styles to add to CGY’s top 9.

Directionally that makes no sense at all for Philly. They are clearly tanking for a top 5 pick.

This is also a bad deal for Calgary. Konecny is barely better offensively than Mangiapane and way worse defensively, Dube and Hanifin are worth way more than Laughton

Flyers easily decline. They are rebuilding this helps nothing to do with that. Also TDA is literally traded already it just can’t be processed yet lol.

I think Konecny is a massive upgrade over Mangiapane in more than one way. And Laughton looks like a perfect linemate for Kadri. Those two could create a lot of space on the ice.

Any trade involving Konecny & Hanifin should be a three-way, perhaps involving Seattle, St. Louis, or Detroit.

Also. regarding Philly, I think Atkinson would be a good fit with Calgary

Saying they can just flip them is very lazy thinking because it shows you failed to look at the other teams needs.

Why do you think he's a massive upgrade? Because he score more on the 1st powerplay unit? Their 5v5 production is very similar.

You overvalue Laughton, he's a decent 3rd liner, but not much more. This trade is a perfect example of looking for greener grass
