What We Couldve Done Instead

You realize some players have other lives and factors outside of hockey that would mean they just straight up wouldn’t be interested in signing/playing/living in Toronto.

Just having the cap space and offering the contract doesn’t just automatically mean all the players you’d like to sign just magically appear lol

Assuming this could have played out:

Not a fan of the blueline at all. Lacks grit.

But the forward group is insane.

Yes but for me the main reason why players don’t want to sign in Toronto is because we have no project. We don’t have a coherent way of playing or an identity.

Then I would have traded Brodie to BUF and signed Graves.

Buffalo in signing Clifton, pretty much negates the need for Brodie. But I like the overall thought process.

I just would have gone Graves over Kilingberg.
