I gotta think Caps fans will hate this. I find it funny when teams have these players who they don't want to pay but insist they are worth sooo much to everyone else... just not their organization.

I don't get it, Why haven't the Devils paid Bratt? I get he's a good player, but if you're not going to pay him, what do you think that does to his trade value? It lets everyone else know that you don't think he's worth what hes asking for

Bratt is a 1st line winger and is just now entering his prime.
Bratt would be the perfect pickup for a team like the Caps (or Pens etc) that will have their window of contention slammed shut in 3-4 years.
The trade value comp is based off DeBrincat from last season, with some other shapes added to the deal.

At this point in time you're reading too much into this.
I'd be perfectly happy with the Devils not doing this trade and just retain Bratt in the team.
Bratt'd likely sign a contract similar to the Fiala deal, 7.875m x 8, and most Devils fans would be perfectly fine with that. I know I'd be content with that outcome.

Grzelcyk doesn't sound like a Fitzy dman at all (he likes "long and mobile"). Maybe ask for Georgii instead...if we are going with whole Russia thing...and replace Gritsyuk with someone else.
