Two utterly horrible trades for Anaheim. Even if you buy into the uninformed idiocy that Gibson is a bad goaltender, four years of a starter is worth more than that. And if he's so terrible, how stupid is it to want him for four entire seasons at $6.4 million each?

Replacing four years of Gibson, who has played in fewer than 50 games only once in the last 7 seasons (and that due to the pandemic) with one season of the brittle 34-year-old Auntie Raanta, who hasn't played in as many as 34 games in the past five seasons, is just moronic.

Henrique is worth more than that with retention.

So comparing GP between Raanta and Gibson isn’t an even comparison bc one is his teams starter and the other is the backup. Not arguing the durability concerns just commenting on the comparison.
You call the criticism of Gibson “uninformed idiocy” my only question is what evidence is there to support that claim? The eye test, traditional stats and advanced analytics all say that Gibson hasn’t been a good goalie in 4 years.
