I mean it can be done, it's not bad but also not great. Personally I don't like it, I would rather see other moves like I said, if we can get out of the Carter contract id be more open to the idea.

I will say this, if theres a Leafs Foward id target, it would be Nylander simply because of the cap hit

I'd rather...

1) Buy out Granlund
2) Re-sign Zucker
3) Sign Bertuzzi (Zucker + Bertuzzi = right around what Marner costs)

Well we aren’t getting out of the Carter contract regardless and he is going to play regardless so I’d rather take the upgrade in both top 6 and bottom 6 rather than just upgrading the bottom 6 and re-signing Zucker. Marner is also younger than the guys you mentioned on top of being much better.

But what if Zucker wants paid cause it’s going to be his last chance at a big pay day.
I also believe Bertuzzi wants like 7-8 million per. That’s why Detroit couldn’t reach a deal and had to trade him instead of I’m not mistaken.

Im not denying that marner is a great player and would in consequence improve the 3rd line however, id rather see something else. Just how I like to build teams I guess
