Agreed - anyone that proposes a trade sending a center to Buffalo isn't paying attention to or familiar with the Sabres' situation. Their strongest position is center, with a top 3 of Thompson-Cozens-Krebs and Mittelstadt a quality option as well - not to mention elite prospects like Savoie and Kulich both on the way, and they're all 25 or under in age. Their future is set there.

I wouldn’t say Buffalo couldn’t use a good penalty killing center who wins face-offs. But certainly not one with the kind of term and money that Pageau is getting, and never for that price tag. You won’t get one second round pick for his contract, never mind a conditional first.
