The Trade Deadline is March 3 but the Penguins may need to set it earlier for themselves if they want to keep up in the Wild Card race.

- With 33 games left, I think they've seen all they need to see with Danton Heinen. He had a great season last year but there hasn't been that same production. Waiving Heinen opens up $1M which is much needed.

- To open up a little more space, I would send Blueger to a Western Conference contender who could upgrade their PK. At this point, it should be ok with Poehling, McGinn, Rust and Archibald as PK options, but their final move should bring in a versatile 3C who can also PK...

- If available, Henrique (will add to trade as needed) should be an intriguing option for Hextall. I would saddle him with a couple of young wingers such as O'Connor and possibly Puustinen. Limit McGinn to fourth line minutes and only dress Carter when there are no other options.
