Sure he will. It’s a B prospect and a 2nd. That’s not even an incredibly high price to pay. That 2nd might as well be a 3rd, and Olausson hasn’t progressed that well since being drafted: The only reason Monahan won’t fetch a 1st is because of the injury, but he’ll still net a nice return.
Colorado doesn’t care about those pieces whatsoever, they care about these playoffs. Prices are wildly high at the deadline especially this deadline which will see a ton of teams going after the same players with fewer sellers than most years.
He’s not going to fetch a1st he’s he’s not worth that, he went from a guy looking likes he’s washed in the league as a 4th liner in Calgary to maybe a guy who could be a 3c on a contending team if healthy, which he never is or has been his whole career. This injury didn’t stop him getting a 1st; he never was from the get to. He makes too much money, is a poor skater, has been poor defensively his whole career and has been poor to mediocre in the playoffs routinely,
This is Oskars first year in North America. What are you going. Saying that the avs don’t care about their future shows you don’t really pay attention to how to build their team or make trades, they do not invest their better prospect in rentals, full stop
There is an abundance of mediocre cs available like monahan, he’s not a premium asset or target, there won’t be high returns for guys like him bc teams can easily go to the next team and get a version of him for half the cost
