Toews would make more sense for COL and I think there would be better offers for Kane from other teams with more assets.

I dont see the avs have any interest in kane, positionally this is a bad trade for them. They are weak depth at C right now so they trade a NHL who plays C and a prospect who plays C for a RW?
Dont see how that makes sense for them.

Also dont see them going all in with a trade like that for a rental, they dont do those kind of moves.
I see them getting Toews at a respectable price or doing a deal to pick up AA and Jack Johnson and just roll with their depth

You can get offers from any team, even if they offer 4 firsts and kane doesnt want to play there it wont matter.

Scott Powers did not estimate the returns, he spoke to 2 scouts and shared their opinions specifically on the returns for Domi and AA but we don't know when he spoke to the scouts, and scouts are not GMs obviously. Domi will land a late 2nd at the rate he's playing regardless of one scout saying a 3rd. AA they said a 3rd or 4th which is probably accurate.

What was shared about Kane, that he will only likely waive to a contender is nothing new from at the start of the season...the return was always going to be limited to the number of teams he waives for, but there was no estimation on return as nobody knows how many teams he will waive for. Could be 6, could be 1...vast difference in return based on that spread.

As for Toews, Powers said between the two, Toews is more likely to stay then Kane but nobody knows.
