For a rental Kane making 5.25, not only do the Canes not have the cap, I wouldn't do Necas in any deal for Kane right now. I'd unload any prospect (not named Morrow) and the draft, but I think Necas right now is untouchable. At a cost control rate, he is the emergency plan if KK doesn't work at 2C. I think that piece is a non-starter here. If you'd have told me 3 years ago, I'd be saying the Canes have a piece that is a non-starter for Patty Kane, I'd have checked you into a mental asylum, and I'm not convinced I'm not about to check myself into one, but alas, here we are.

Calgary accepts if it is a 3rd. Maybe this won't happen. I dunno

Any rumors floating around Hurricane land about what Necas might be asking for his new contract?

Question for Chicago fans: does Seth jones really want to stay if they are rebuilding for 5 more years? Like, debrincat, and Dach leaving may have been to drive Kane and Toews to waive, but Jones is still in his prime, and won't be by the time the rebuild is over. You would have to assume they would move him as well.
