Lineup isn't really realistic but whatever.

Love the idea of adding some more youth to this group that can come in and play this season, a la Romanov trade. Since we're strapped on cap space and are either unwilling or unable to clear money, an approach like this might be necessary if any improvement is to be made next season, even if it isn't Vilardi.

The best teams are able to find undervalued or superfluous young talent via trade or free agency (Verhaeghe, Bunting, Marchment, Nichushkin, etc.). Isles need to start doing more of that

I wouldn’t mind trading for Vilardi but I wouldn’t trade more than a 2nd. He hasn’t shown much in the NHL, would rather trade for a young player who has had good underlying numbers in a bottom 6 role on the verge of breaking out
