Replace Gurianov with Suter and DAL accepts.

Wouldn't do for us to have two D-men signed until 40.

I don’t see San Jose retaining and taking back Suter, rather just keep Burns at that point. Don’t see Gurianov moving since they just signed him as well

Suter would actually make sense for the 2nd or 3rd pairings for our D and his 3.65M cap hit, while not cheap, would still allow us to save money. If he does fall off a cliff in a season or two, his final season buyout would be $750k and $1.4M which isn't nearly as bad as the $6,371,794 Wild are paying him right now. This would cost us a lot of offensive production (which Burns still delivers as advertised), but Merkley was developed to be an offensive quarterback D and this could give him Top 4 opps.

The only real obstacle is Suter's NMC. He still performs as advertised as a defensive D and can fit in Vlasic's role but I'm not sure if he'd be willing to waive it to go to San Jose.

I'd be a big fan of Suter coming back in a Burns-to-DAL deal. That said, fully agreed that SJ wouldn't retain (or would only retain 1-1.4mil instead of 2mil).

I can easily see Suter agree since his family have strong ties to the Sharks organization.
