He would have to be going somewhere he'd want to go. LA or maybe Anaheim.

The message to him would be simple... Its either waive or we have to scratch/waive you.

Leafs could conceivably waive Muzzin and still offer Gio a deal. They'd potentially have to move Holl or save dollars on other contracts

Tampa tried that strategy with Tyler Johnson and he didn't waive his NTC. Tampa ended up putting him on waivers and he cleared.

I wouldn't take it for granted that someone would claim him off waivers.

No one would claim him......He's been poor this year and not worth his contract. But really the thought of any team trading for Muzzin is really ridiculous.

muzzin has an off year with injuries and everyone wants him out all of sudden. He's been our best defensemen over the last 2 years, give him another chance
