Both teams say no to the Beauvillier-Dillon trade. Islanders would be selling low on a guy who's been kinda snakebit this year (12.9% career shooting percentage entering this year; only 7.5% this year though!) and Winnipeg is close enough to the cap that I don't know if they'd want to devote $4.15M to a guy who you have playing LW3. That deal is toast if PLD doesn't accept 8x$8 as well.

No from Winnipeg on both trades. There's no reason to give Vesalainen away for nothing and the Jets don't need an underperforming left shot winger at the cost of a top 4 defenseman. Plus the Islanders need more offense not more defense.

I like Beauvillier and am aware his down year is probably just a one off but I don't see why the Jets should be adding a good pick, straight across is pretty close to fair imo though with the prices paid for dman since last summer the argument could be made the Islanders should be the ones adding here.

See no point in just giving Vesalainen away, yes he's underwhelmed but its basically his rookie year, the Jets are thin with young forwards as well, I'd hang onto him and see what better coaching could do with him, the Jets essentially turned a shooter into a grinder with Vesalainen, they desperately need a philosophy shift with how they use their bottom two lines.
