Trading Chiarot Somewhere Other Than EDM

As is, the Blues don't have a need for Wideman. Besides, a 3rd seems steep.

Value isn't there in the Chiarot trade. A puck moving defender is a need now but with Mailloux, Norlinder, Romanov, Struble and Harris giving good outlets it won't necessarily be a need 3 years down the road when Cormier is ready, even if he's a good puck moving defender and Primeau -although a cool story to reunite brothers- isn't moving the scale much. Is Chiarot a fit there, I don't know but on Montreal side I don't see the need to accept this deal., either just go for picks or guys that can fill a "now need" and are at the verge of being NHL ready (Dugan or Korczak) along with various picks.


It is but you and I saw weirder trades at TDL, a team with an injury or a poor powerplay wouldn't mind spending a back end third round pick (90ish) to fix it.

Heh okay, but those aren't weird trades. They make sense in the situation. If the Blues suddenly need an RD, they could get as good or better for less. Lyubushkin, for example.

With what cap space? They are already threading the needle capwise and Arizona isnt going to retain on the deal.
