Description
Rationale:

Edmonton - could use a good depth C that can at all situations and up the lineup if needed.

Predators - takes on Kassian (due to cap reasons) and upgrades a 3rd into a 1st. Way I see it Sissons = a 2nd or 3rd + taking Kassian back as cap fodder + mid round pick = 1st.

Toronto- gets Forsberg at the deadline to increase forward depth

Nashville - takes Ritchie due to cap reasons (his value is nonexistent), gets Amirov + upgrades a 2nd to a 1st. Didn’t want to take on Kerfoot as he actually provides some value to Toronto and taking him hurts their depth and provides no value to Nashville. The way I see the trade Forsberg = 1st + a good prospect addition of the 2nd makes it more palatable for Toronto to part with Amirov.

Lines:

Duchene Granlund Kunin is clicking good right now why change it
Tolaven Joey Tomasino give this line more time to develop chemistry
Amirov glass afanasyev- glass and afanasyev have been getting some time together in the AHL and look good. Bring in Amirov and see what they can do (could be a very protected offensive 4th line)
Jeannot Novak Trenin - Novak slides in where sissons was and the world keeps turning

Kassian and Ritchie become 13th and 14th forwards and Davies can be 7th dman or bring back benning for cheap and let Davies/Farrance get lots of ahl time.

Drop the pick coming from NSH in the Sissons-Kassian trade, and I think that's fair.

Way too generous to TOR though. Amirov and the 1st might be fair for Forsberg but with the cap dump, retention and NSH's 2nd involved, that's pretty terrible for the Preds.

There's no such thing as a competent bottom 6 centre in Edmonton. If I had a dollar for every solution for our 3C problem that went sideways I might be able to afford a beer at Rogers.

Interesting deals all around, however, I don't think that NSH needs to give up the 2nd in the TOR deal since they are taking on a multi-year Ritchie + retaining on Forsberg.

I like what I've seen this year from Sissons, but it does make sense to move on from Sissons with all of the younger players NSH has in their system. And it honestly might work for EDM who should definitely get out from under that Kassian deal and shouldn't be afraid to trade 1sts. Sissons would be a perfect player for their bottom 6 and PK -- they may prefer someone with more offensive upside though.

Forsberg would be a tough guy to lose, but getting a 1st + good prospect is a good start. They may be able to get another pick out of it depending on interest around the league as well. Slowly, NSH is quickly turning into team Russia -- Trenin, Afanasyev, Askarov, Svechkov, and now Amirov.

If NSH continues with this direction, I wonder if there is a deal to be made with VAN around Podkolzin and Fabbro/Myers. Could be of interest to both teams. May as well add one more Russian to the club lol

The 2nd is basically because Toronto can’t extend Forsberg and Amirov + 1st is just not palatable for a rental. Value is pretty meh from a Nashville perspective but in this scenario I get the prospect I want to go after and a 1st so to me it’s a win.

I found this pretty funny tbh. Sissons is a good all around player and I think he could continue that in Edmonton. I just view him as expendable with Novak being NHL ready, Glass next season, and Svechkov the season after (probably). That doesn’t even count afanasyev or Tomasino going back to center as a possibility.

I think the 1st and Amirov is fair for both teams, with the retention NSH is giving TOR here. Maybe I'm undervaluing Amirov a touch. I'd be happy to have him, but don't see him as a can't miss prospect. At most, i could see NSH giving TOR a 4th along with Forsberg, if the Preds are high on Amirov. The 2nd and taking Ritchie is just too much of a sweatheart deal for the Leafs.

I believe Parssinen mostly plays down the middle too. If he plays with MIL next season, he could be another good center option for the Preds in a couple years.
