Description

Two recent 1sts (Foudy, Ceulemans), a top prospect (Marchenko) and young bounce-back candidate (Tex) + the Chicago pick, which will be near the lotto (or slide to 2023 without protection for a shot at Bedard). Buffalo also doesn't need to take on a salary to make the trade work.

CBJ then adds back draft capital at the deadline by moving out Domi, Nyquist and Korpisalo all at 50% retained.

Jackets keep their own first round pick in the Eichel trade, and without Domi/Nyquist/Korpi slide back in the standings and add a good player near the top of the first round (I'd love someone like Yurov or Cooley) + drafts 1-2 defensemen to replace Ceulemans with the later firsts.

Korpisalo is not a good goalie. If COL has an injured goalie at the deadline I could see them adding someone but a 2nd for a goalie of Korpisalo's caliber is a huge overpay

Allen is significantly better and got a 3rd

Forgetting about value for a minute, I'm pretty sure Buffalo needs to bring back around $7m in cap hits just to get to the cap floor if they move Eichel. It's not going to be as simple as just sending 4-5 pieces to Buffalo in exchange for Eichel.
