That would be the only hang up. This would be an ideal trade scenario otherwise for CBJ, not having to give up Johnson, Sillinger, Cuelemans, Chinakov, Vronkov or Marchenko. If it came down to the wire I think Jarmo would pull the trigger on this.
I'm really not sure...if that pick ends up being Top-5/10? That's really tough.
Would also depend on where that CHI pick ends up. If they end up tanking and its looking to be a Top-10 also, then sure.

I don't believe they are good trade partners.
If you can't bother to give up a 1st round draft pick for a top 10 NHL center, then what are we even doing here? I'm aware of the injury risk, but its almost the only thing of value being put in here.
I'd be willing to give up a 1st, but you're talking a Top-5 lottery pick the way things are trending now. Vast difference in value.

This trade opens up cap space next year for CBJ to re-sign key guys, and opens roster spots for their top incoming talent ( Johnson, Sillinger, Chinakov, Marchenko). It’s a very tempting proposal.
Cap isn't a concern next year. The hang up in roster spots - but I also think Nyquist isn't with the team next year anyway. Said it before, I'll say it again, I think he's a real underrated trade piece, particularly if CBJ retain on him. Peeke is an important part - we need RD now and in the immediate future. The only real roster question is Tex - and the answer is going to be very different depending on how this year goes for him.
