I really dislike both of these trades tbh. That's a big overpay for Laine, and Ghost is not the type of player the Avs need (funny enough, Johnson is). And the latter trade barely even saves cap space.

I'd much rather chase a guy like Hertl or Forsberg than more one dimensional players like Laine and Ghost. It would be an exciting team though, in good and bad ways.

and its the correct amount of time to keep on turning down that deal.

Laine sucked last year, he said it himself....avs wouldnt include Newhooks name when they checked in in Dubois, and since then newhook has shown he is more then NHL ready and has the skill to make an impact.

COL wouldn’t trade Newhook straight up for Laine.
