DRAISAITL to Caps

So the caps get to dump all their problems on the oilers and get draisaitl? Ya right. Draisaitl’ s contract is so valuable.

I posed the question on another thread would the Oilers be better off trading Draisitl for more pieces, like if the NYR just said screw it and said Lafrienere, Fox, and 1st would Edmonton listen?

Well, ya, if they can get fox they do it. Fox isn’t an option though

Yes. Draisaitl is an MVP type of player, although we've never really seen him play a year without McDavid to know if he can carry a team. He's better than Kuznetsov and hasn't tried drugs. (eta: that we have seen publicly)

Wilson's a top line power forward. Samsonov's a good, young goalie. Eller is a good 3C who could maybe pass for a 2C sometimes, when the team gets injuries, but who doesn't do very well on the top line, like he's had to play a bit, this year. How are these guys problems?

Well, it really looks like kuznetsov is A. Declining, and B. A bit of a problem. Whether it’s off ice crap or whatever, the vibe around the caps is definitely not a good one when it comes to him. Wilson is a great talent, but cmon, we all know what’s happening with him. He can’t help himself, and his next suspension will be a big one. The one after that will be really really big. They’re coming, it’s just a matter of when.

Samsonov is a mixed bag, and yes, eller is a good 3C. So the oilers make their cap situation worse, get a couple talented pieces that are definitely gambles, a good 3C, and an up and down goalie. Yaaaaa that’s a pass.
