MIN
  1. Hischier, Nico
Détails additionnels:
Let me preface this by saying I don't think the Devils will be looking to trade their captain but Hischier had a disappointing season due to injuries and he has been on the downward trajectory the past couple years. That's a bit alarming for a team looking to trade for him, but Hischier was at his best when Hall was his winger. On the Wild he would be playing next to Kaprizov and Zuccarello which is a big upgrade from Zacha and Bratt. Losing Fiala hurts, but I still believe Hischier can be a 70 point center in the NHL with the right wingers, and he would have every opportunity in the world to achieve that in Minnesota.
NJD
  1. Fiala, Kevin [Droits de RFA]
Détails additionnels:
Fiala hasn't necessarily lit up the score sheet every night, but on the Wild he has been stuck playing with the disappointing Johansson and a revolving door of 4th liners. Not exactly a recipe for success, yet he still scored at a 33 goal pace over 82 games this season. The Devils haven't had a dynamic winger like Fiala since Hall. Fiala has the speed, skill, and offensive IQ to play with Hughes and I think those two could be an extremely dynamic pair and would give the Devils a legitimate top line with Zacha.

Just from a value standpoint Minnesota would be adding a lot

While I agree with your assessment of what Fiala could be in NJ centers are just too valuable. Hischier, even with all of the injuries this year, is already a really good 2C lower 1C who is still very young and has a lot of potential to grow.

NJ would need quite a bit of sweetener to consider. They might even want to add Boldy or Rossi.

1 for 1, not a chance New Jersey considers this. Positional value alone they lose the deal. Fiala has been decent in Minnesota, but shooting middle 6 wingers are pretty easy to find anywhere. New Jersey already has quite a few in their system that may be ready soon in Holtz, Mercer, and Foote. Not to mention the guys they already have their now.

I feel like your logic of saying that Hischier has been on the downward trajectory is a more of something you're just trying to make justify New Jersey trade him for your benefit, rather than an actual reason. I'm not arguing that his production has gone down, but as you said it went down after Hall left and would go back up with Kaprizov, but that's more reason for New Jersey to get him a winger rather than trade him away. And again, they have guys coming in the system for that. In the midst of all the "downward trend" New Jersey still felt comfortable to name him their captain at such a young age. To me that says they're still high on him and not looking to move him at all.
