Its quite sad whats happened to Columbus

A good team 2 years ago, a solid team last year, and now if they lose Dubois I don't see this team succeeding. I don't think Laine helps, Dubois is better IMO just for the situation. If Panarin stays this team is a powerhouse. Now they are on the verge of collapsing.

They were a feelsgoodman type story as they finally righted the ship and even though their GM went all in fans finally experienced success and had some hope on the horizon. This could have been good if the players who left realized the team they had. Even if just Panarin stayed this team likely goes farther in the playoffs than they did last year (maybe not if the played Tampa but still). If Dubois leaves this team is going back into lacklustre mediocrity.

Rolled the dice on the playoffs 2 years ago. Gambled and 💩the bed.

I would have dealt Bob and Panarin but they probably figured they could win a series or two and generate some revenue and fan interest.

That 1st round pick this year though....wtf?

I appreciated the dice roll though. As a MIN fan, the Parise /Suter deals are haunting us but I’d do it all over again. CBJ, ironically, plays similar to MIN and has trouble scoring but has better young pieces up front in PLD and Bjorkstrand. I’ve got to think they take a step and Domi was a good move, they just need another piece on the wing. Maybe that’s Foudy or maybe they have to make another move.

I don’t think they win a playoff series, but they have a decent shot at that 4th playoff spot in the central. They just need to keep taking steps.
