If hawks wanted to give Lehner term they wouldn’t have traded him, apparently they only wanted to give him 2 years and lehner isn’t interested in that.

Don’t see them changing their minds and giving him 6 years now after refusing to do so

That OTT trade is just sooooo bad from a value perspective for the Hawks.
Rangers keep Buch because that offer isn't even close to the starting price.
The Murphy trade heavily favors the leafs, as they get what they desperately desire, a RHD who can actually play defence. They also get a replacement 3pair LHD.
Trading for Risto instead of keeping Murphy just weakens the Hawks' already weak D. What's worse tho is that you thought it would be a good idea to sign Vesey for 4 years at $2.75m (lol).
I don't hate your idea for the NJ trade tho, Im just not sure I would do it with those exact pieces.

1000% agree with this. Risto is horrible, taking on that brutal cap hit for a player that isn't better then murphy by any stretch and only blocks Ian Mitchell from being in the lineup.

I think the angle is that Lehner might change his mind with the flat cap the next 2 years and then GMs would be more willing to cash him in, but allegedly the bridge is burnt between Lehner and Bowman so unless hes fired I dont see it
