Sens shouldn't even try to compete next year. Try to develop the players in the system instead of rushing some guys and overpay UFA's. Realistically, Sens are a few years removed from competing. But the upcoming draft will likely boost their rebuild big time

While I expect minor improvements next year, I don't see them competing for a playoff spot for at least another 2-3 years. Next year, we'll see a more mobile back end but that could lead to even worse d-zone coverage. With the draft as strong as it is, and with two top 5 picks (hopefully!), I see them get a little more talented up front to help Tkachuk.

No because Alex Pietrangelo isn't wasting his time with Ottawa, And fat chance of Lehner taking a 2 x 5.5 deal from the Sens. Lehner will want a long term deal probably at least 5 x 6 if not more.
